ExtendInsights Data Management | Learn how to assign multiple company fields of a contact record

Updated over a week ago

In NetSuite, you can attach contacts to multiple companies (customer, job, lead, prospect, vendor and partner) under the Contacts subtab.

Watch the video below on how to perform this using ExtendInsights!

Template Layout

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: It is best to check out the forms and fields and identify the header, column, and required fields in NetSuite that you may need to build the template.

If you are using NetSuite Classic Interface you can go to:

List >Relationships > Contacts

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Entity ID

  • Company

How-To

Step 1: Create a Contact Record template and ensure all necessary fields are included, including the Company field.

Step 2: Depending on how many companies to add, insert lines and repeat the header details including the internal Id of the contact record.

Step 3: Choose the desired Company/Customer and Project values from the Company picklist.

Keep the primary company at the bottom of the upload list per contact.

Step 4: Upload the data and refresh the Contact record in NetSuite.

First Scenario: Adding companies or jobs to an existing contact record

Added three new rows and kept Stein Investments at the bottom.

Second Scenario: Update the primary company

If you want to change the primary company, put the company to be set as primary at the bottom of your upload.

This is how it will look in NetSuite.
