OLNS | Learn how to side load Outlook Add-in

Updated over a week ago

🛑 We recommend side loading as a last resort since certain updates to the app will not be available to you.

If you are not able to install add-ins share this article with your Admin first and see if they can grant you permission to install add-ins.

Some customers do not have access to the Microsoft store. If you are unable to install our App from the Microsoft store you may follow the instructions here to install it (bypassing the store is called 'side loading').

The app can be side-loaded from OWA (your browser) or from the Outlook desktop. These instructions are borrowed from Microsoft.

Prerequisite

Ask your Account Exec or email cloudextend-cs@celigo.com) to confirm that the manifest URL's below are the latest and greatest.

Office 365 Admins

Microsoft 365 Admins can sideload for end-users from the Microsoft 365 Admin portal. Instructions are here.

End-Users

End users have two options depending on the environment they work in (desktop or online)

🔵 Option 1: Side Load from Desktop (for end-users)

Step 1: Open Outlook 2013 or later for Windows, or Outlook 2016 or later for Mac and select the Get Add-ins button on the ribbon. Note If you don't see the Get Add-ins button in your version of Outlook, select the Store button on the ribbon instead.

Step 2: Select Add-Ins, and then select My add-ins.

Step 3: Locate the Custom add-ins section at the bottom of the dialog. Select the Add a custom add-in link, and then select Add from a file if you have received an XML file or add from URL if you have been provided with a URL.
