Working with Templates: Error Notifications

ExtendInsights Data Management | Understand color-coded success, warning, and error messages

Updated this week

ExtendInsights Data Management provides color-coded notifications after you upload or update data. These indicators appear in the reserved status column and help you quickly understand the result of each row.

What to Do

🟒 Green

Success

The record was successfully created or updated in NetSuite. The value shown is the NetSuite Internal ID.

No action required.

NetSuite rejected the record. The update did not occur.

Fix the error, then re-upload the affected row(s).

🟑 Yellow

Warning

NetSuite returned a warning, but the record was still saved successfully.

Review the warning. No fix required unless your process demands it.

🟒 Green: Successful Update

  • Indicates the operation completed successfully.

  • The green value represents the NetSuite Internal ID of the record.

  • Applies to create and update operations.

Action: None.

πŸ”΄ Red: Error (Action Required)

  • The record was not saved to NetSuite.

  • An error message explains what went wrong (for example, missing required fields or invalid values).

πŸ’‘ Tip:
After fixing the issue, upload only the affected row(s) to save time; no need to re-upload the entire sheet.

➑️ See the sample on how to use Update Selected Rows

🟑 Yellow: Warning (Saved Successfully)

  • NetSuite returned a warning (for example, a credit limit warning).

  • The record was still saved in NetSuite.

  • Warnings are informational by default.

πŸ’‘ Note:
If your organization requires warnings to block updates, an admin can configure ExtendInsights to treat warnings as errors.

Best Practices

  • Always resolve red errors before continuing.

  • Review yellow warnings to ensure they align with your business rules.

  • Keep successful rows (green) unchanged to avoid unnecessary reprocessing.
