FAQ: Deprecation/Removal of Raw Download and Search Joins

ExtendInsights Data Management |Some legacy capabilities are not included in the new version

Updated today

The new version of ExtendInsights Data Management includes significant usability and workflow improvements. However, two legacy capabilities are not available in the new experience:

  • Saved Search Raw Download

  • Search Joins in Filters

This article explains what changed, why, and what to use instead.

Saved Search Raw Download (Removed)

What changed

The Saved Search Raw Download option (downloading a saved search into Excel in a “raw reporting-style” format) is not supported in the new version of ExtendInsights Data Management.

Why was it removed

Raw saved search downloads are now positioned under ExtendInsights Analytics for NetSuite, which is designed specifically for reporting and refreshable analysis workflows.

What you can do instead

You still have two solid options depending on your goal:

  1. Need data to edit and upload back to NetSuite (operational workflow)
Use Search and Download into a Data Management template using a saved search.

    • This keeps the dataset actionable for updates (create/update/delete).

    • You can modify the downloaded rows and upload changes back to NetSuite.

  2. Need reporting-style downloads (analysis workflow)
Use ExtendInsights Analytics for NetSuite to run saved searches for reporting and refresh them on-demand or on a schedule.

Search Joins in Filters (Removed)

What changed

The ability to create a filter with joined fields from related records (Search Joins) has been removed from the filter builder in the new version.

Why was it removed

Usage was low, and the most reliable method to pull joined datasets is to define the join logic directly in NetSuite.

What you can do instead

If you need joined results, use one of the following:

  • Create or update a NetSuite Saved Search that includes the required joins/related fields

  • Then download the results using that saved search in ExtendInsights Data Management

This approach is typically more maintainable and aligns with NetSuite’s native reporting/search model.

Summary: What stayed the same

Even with these removals:

  • You can still download saved search results into templates for data operations

  • You can still use filters (rules-based) to download subsets of records

  • Joined datasets are still achievable via NetSuite Saved Searches
