Overview
If emails synced from Gmail appear as raw HTML in NetSuite, Rich Text Editing is likely disabled in your NetSuite user preferences.
This article explains how to enable Rich Text Editing so emails display correctly in NetSuite.
Symptoms
You may notice one or more of the following:
Email content appears as HTML tags instead of formatted text
Line breaks, spacing, or styling do not display correctly
Emails synced from ExtendSync are difficult to read in NetSuite
Why This Happens
NetSuite allows users to choose how rich text content is displayed. When Rich Text Editing is disabled:
NetSuite displays the underlying HTML instead of rendered content
This affects how synced emails appear on the Messages / Communication tab
This is a NetSuite user preference, not an ExtendSync issue.
How to Enable Rich Text Editing
Follow these steps in NetSuite:
Go to Home → Set Preferences.
Open the Appearance tab.
Enable Rich Text Editing.
Click Save.
