ExtendSync for Google NetSuite lets you choose which NetSuite records to save an email to and control whether attachments are included.
You can include attachments when saving emails using:
Updates to this thread (Autopilot – Enterprise only)
One-Time Save
Google Drive (to avoid NetSuite storage usage)

How Attachments Work in ExtendSync
Attachments are optional and controlled per save action.
When a record is selected click the 📎 paperclip icon to include attachment/s
Email Addressed Based Autopilot does not automatically include attachments by design (to help manage NetSuite storage).
You can always:
Attach files manually
Use Google Drive to link files without consuming NetSuite storage
Temporarily stop Autopilot. Use one-time save and include attachments, then re-enable Autopilot
Based on Updates to this thread
Use Updates to this thread when you want all future replies in a single conversation to sync to NetSuite.
⚠️ Attachment behavior:
Only the initial attachments present at the time you start Autopilot can be included. Future replies’ attachments are not auto-included.
Open the email and select Suggest Related Records.
Go to the Autopilot section.
Select Updates to this thread.
Choose the NetSuite record(s) to associate the thread with.
Use the search box to add records not shown.
Click the paper clip icon at the top.
Select the file(s) to include and click Update Attachments.
Click Start Autopilot.
💡 Note:
If you later need to include attachments from a reply, consider a One-Time Save for that message or use Google Drive.
One-Time Saving Method
With every email that you want to be saved in NetSuite, you have to manually save it every single time.
Best For
You only want very important emails in NetSuite.
You are saving on transactions like Sales Orders or Invoices.
You typically do not have long email threads going on with your customers.
You are on the Group Edition and do not have a choice (Autopilot options are only available on the Enterprise Edition. Ask us about upgrading.)
Steps
Switch to the One-Time tab.
Select the NetSuite record(s) to save the email to.
(Optional) Use the search box to add more records.
Include Attachments
Click the paper clip icon:
Sync all attachments, or
Sync selected attachments
(Optional) Turn on Include Inline Images if needed.
Click Update Attachments.
📝 You’ll see an indicator next to the record name confirming attachments are selected. Click Save to complete.
Save Attachments to Google Drive (Recommended for Large Files)
If you have an email with an attachment and you wish to store the attachment in Google Drive, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Hover the mouse to the file attachment of the email then click Add to Drive.
Step 2: Click Organize and choose where you want the file to be stored.
Step 3 (Optional): If the root folder is not attached yet to a record in NetSuite, open the NetSuite record and attach the folder to be associated.
✅ Files remain in Google Drive and are accessible from NetSuite without consuming NetSuite storage.
Tips & Best Practices
Use thread based Autopilot for ongoing conversations; use One-Time Save for exceptions.
Prefer Google Drive for large or frequently updated files.
Attach emails to transaction-level records when possible; rely on roll-up for visibility at the customer level.
If attachments are critical for a specific reply in an Autopilot thread, use a One-Time Save for that message.
