How to create your NetSuite access token and connect the CloudExtend Financial Reporting Excel Add-In (MVP / Early Access).

Updated yesterday

⚠️ Important: This is a pre-release MVP version made available to a limited number of early access testers. You may encounter issues not listed in our Known Issues article. That is expected and your feedback helps us improve.

The MVP version of the Financial Reporting App requires that you securely connect with a NetSuite token and secret. This guide walks you through creating those credentials and loading the add-in in Excel.

Step 1 β€” Create Your NetSuite Token and Secret

  1. Log in to NetSuite using the role your NetSuite Admin has assigned to you for testing. This is typically the same role you use every day.

  2. From the home screen, scroll down to the lower-left corner of your NetSuite window. Look for Settings and click Manage Access Tokens.

  3. On the next screen, click New My Access Token.

  4. Under Application Name, select CloudExtend FRE (Prod).

  5. On the confirmation screen, save your Token ID and Token Secret to a secure location (such as LastPass or your preferred password manager). These credentials will not be shown again. If you lose them, you can revoke them and create new ones.

πŸ“Œ Keep your token and secret handy β€” you will need them in the next step.

Step 2 β€” Load the Add-In and Connect to NetSuite

  1. In Excel, locate the Add-Ins section in your ribbon. Click Add-Ins and scroll until you see XAVI. Select it to open the task pane.

  2. Enter your NetSuite Account Number, Token ID, and Token Secret in the fields provided.

  3. We recommend taking the 60-second interactive tour under Quick Start to learn about XAVI formulas before building your own.

  4. To start building formulas, type =XAVI in any cell to see the available formula options.
