In addition to XAVI formulas, ExtendInsights Financial Reporting lets you download NetSuite data using SuiteQL or an existing saved search. Both options are available in the Financial Reporting task pane.
Which Option Should I Use?
Option | Use it when |
XAVI formulas | You need General Ledger balances in a report that you can refresh with Refresh All. |
SuiteQL | You need data beyond General Ledger balances or want to control which fields and filters the query returns. |
Saved Search | The data is already available in a NetSuite saved search, and you want to download it into Excel. |
Download Data Using SuiteQL
In the task pane, select SuiteQL.
Click Create Query, then write a SuiteQL query, or describe the data you need in plain language and have AI generate a query.
Review the query.
AI-generated queries may contain errors. Review the query and preview the results before downloading.
Preview the results. The preview shows the first 50 rows.
If the results are correct, download the query results into your workbook.

Manage SuiteQL Queries
Saved queries appear on the SuiteQL screen. Search the list by query name. For a query, you can:
Select the refresh icon to run it again and update its data in Excel.
Open the three-dot menu to edit, rename, add a description, or delete the query.
Add query
💡 Note:
Queries can use standard or custom NetSuite fields that your role has permission to access.
For result limits, see FAQ: Is There a Row or Result Limit for NetSuite Queries?.
Download a Saved Search
In the task pane, select Saved Search.
Click Create Report.
Search by name or use the available filters to narrow the list.
Select a saved search and download its results into Excel.
Manage Downloaded Saved Searches
Downloaded saved searches appear on the Saved Searches screen. From there, you can:
Search the list by name.
Select Create to add another saved search.
Select the refresh icon for a saved search to update its data, or refresh all listed saved searches at once.
Open the three-dot menu to filter or delete a saved search.
Filter a Saved Search
Filtering narrows the results downloaded from a saved search. It does not create or change the original saved search in NetSuite.
Open the three-dot menu for the saved search and select Filter.
Choose a field, operator, and value.
Add any additional filters, then apply them.
Filter may be unavailable for some saved searches. NetSuite’s API determines which saved search types and fields support filtering. If Filter is unavailable, that saved search type does not support it. This is expected behavior.
➡️ See Apply Filters to NetSuite Saved Searches for details.
Limitations
Scheduling saved search downloads is currently available only in ExtendInsights Analytics.
Filter availability depends on the NetSuite API.
NetSuite enforces limits on SuiteQL results.
