FAQ: Picklist Selection - Cell Operations

ExtendInsights Data Management | Learn more about the new design in using cell operations panel

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Cell Operations Overview

We have redesigned the picklist panel from where users can select values for a select field. It is a draggable pane now so that users can clearly see the complete list and select the values they want. It can also be minimized completely when not in use.

Give it a try! Load a template then click on a cell setup with a field type List. At the lower part of your ExtendInsights panel, you will click the Cell Operations arrow to pull up all the existing items on the list or set the value to empty.

You can also type ahead on the cell. ExtendInsights will Auto-complete if it found a matching item on the list from NetSuite. Just put in the part of the name, no need to remember or look up the Ids.

Refresh Picklist Selection

If a new value/s is added to the NetSuite and not visible in the picklist option inside ExtendInsights, you need to refresh the list to get the latest updates. Click on the cell and expand the picklist selection, click the three dots, and select Refresh.

Set value to Empty

For header-level list-type fields, use the Set value to empty toggle to clear the field data.

πŸ–οΈ Note:

This feature is currently available only for header-level fields when using real-time upload. Support for sublist fields is not available due to Netzsuite limitation for SOAP Request. In the meantime, check out this guide for a workaround.

Setting values to Empty Workaround

Since the set value to empty only works at the header level field. Here are other ways to clear the value in a record.

Step 1: Turn on background upload. Visit article here.

Step 2: Depending on what field you want to clear, enter the following:

  • For Header Level TEXT fields, set the value to :empty:

  • For Sublist DROPDOWN fields, set the value to [[null]]

Step 3: Upload back to Netsuite.
