Working with Templates: Identify Header and Line-Level Fields

ExtendInsights Data Management | Choose the right fields for your template

When building a template, open the NetSuite Create form for the same record type. This helps you identify which fields apply to the entire record and which apply to individual lines.

Identify the field type

  • Header-level fields usually appear by name alone, such as Memo.

  • Line-level fields usually include a sublist prefix and colon, such as Line: List Memo or Item: Department.

Some fields appear at both levels. For example:

  • Memo applies to the entire transaction.

  • Line: List Memo applies to an individual transaction line.

In the image, blue indicates the header-level Memo field; teal indicates the line-level Memo field.
