Error: Attachment of Email Failed Due to Authorization Token Has Expired

ExtendSync Google | Fix “Authorization token has expired” when saving emails to NetSuite

Updated this week

If you see the error below while attaching an email to a NetSuite record, the Google authorization used by ExtendSync has expired and must be re-granted.

Error Message

Attachment of Email(....) to record failed due to Authorization token has expired. Please contact your Administrator to regrant the access

Why This Error Happens

ExtendSync relies on a secure Google authorization to attach emails to NetSuite.
Over time, this authorization can expire due to:

  • Security policy updates

  • Credential changes

  • Long periods without reauthorization

When the token expires, ExtendSync cannot complete the attachment action.

How to Resolve the Error

These steps require both a NetSuite Administrator and a Google Workspace Admin.

Step 1: Open CloudExtend Setup in NetSuite (NetSuite Admin)

  1. Log in to NetSuite as an Administrator.

  2. Navigate to:
Setup → Custom → Celigo CloudExtend Setup

Step 2: Re-Grant Google Access (Google Workspace Admin)

  • If a Google authorization pop-up appears, click Allow Access and complete the consent as the Google Workspace Admin.

If no pop-up appears:

  • Click the authorization link shown in Step 1 on the setup page to manually trigger the consent screen.

  • Complete the consent as the Google Workspace Admin.

Once access is granted, click Next to continue.

Step 3: Review Licenses and Finish (NetSuite Admin)

  1. Continue through the wizard until you reach User Licenses.

  2. Confirm the appropriate users are selected and licensed.

  3. Click Next, then Finish.

This completes the re-authorization.

✅ Verify the Fix

After re-granting access:

  1. Ask the affected user to refresh Gmail.

  2. Open the ExtendSync panel.

  3. Attempt to save an email attachment to a NetSuite record again.

The attachment should succeed without error.

📝 Notes & Best Practices

  • Re-authorization is non-disruptive and does not change user data.

  • If your organization enforces strict security policies, periodic re-authorization may be expected.

  • If multiple Google domains or admin roles exist, ensure the correct Google Workspace Admin completes the consent.
