When Calendar Autopilot is enabled, associating a calendar event with a NetSuite record is disabled while in compose mode.
This limitation exists because of how the Microsoft Graph API handles events that haven’t yet been saved.
Why It’s Disabled
When you create a new event in Outlook (compose mode), Microsoft does not assign an Event ID until the event is saved.
Without that Event ID, ExtendSync cannot link the event to a NetSuite record.
If users were allowed to associate an event before it’s saved:
ExtendSync would not yet have the Event ID to identify the event, and
Once the event was saved, Autopilot would detect it as a new event and create a duplicate record in NetSuite.
To prevent duplicates, ExtendSync disables record association while the event is being composed.
What to Do Instead
If you need to associate the event with a specific NetSuite record (such as a transaction or other records):
Save the event first in Outlook.
Reopen the saved event.
Click the ExtendSync icon to manually attach it to the desired record.
💡 Note:
When using Calendar Autopilot, your event is automatically associated with attendees’ records in NetSuite — so manually linking it again may not be necessary
