This article is designed to help you create guidelines and internal processes, so all users of ExtendInsights are on the same page. Below are the questions you want to have outlined for your users, to ensure internal success and adoption.
Who is going to use ExtendInsights?
Determine which departments will be using ExtendInsights. Finance, Sales, operations etc. If it is various departments, it is very likely that each different department will be working with different record types in NetSuite.
What record types will you be working with?
Determine which record types you would like your users to work with.
Will you be creating new records using ExtendInsights, editing existing records or both?
We recommend using ExtendInsights Excel as much as possible so you can benefit from the time savings of doing so using Excel versus natively in NetSuite.
Will you use the standard or background upload? Both?
Standard upsert works great for smaller data sets. If you are working with large data sets, we recommend using the background upload. Know the difference between the two upload processes here.
Will you be pulling NetSuite data for analysis in Excel?
With ExtendInsights you can pull NetSuite saved searches into Excel for data analysis. If you need the ability to refresh this data on a schedule or on the fly, ask us about our ExtendInsights Analytics application.)
