Retrieve Data: Using Global Filters Across Multiple Workbooks

ExtendInsights Data Management | Access and reuse filters across workbooks, browsers, and devices

Updated yesterday

ExtendInsights Data Management uses Global Filters, which means filters you create are available across multiple workbooks, browsers, and machines as long as you’re connected to the same NetSuite account.

This makes it easy to reuse filters without recreating them every time.

How Filters Are Scoped

Filters are context-aware and are shown based on:

  • NetSuite account

  • Record type

💡 Important Notes

  • Filters are bound to the selected record type

  • Only filters created for the current record type will be visible

Example

  • If you select the Contact record type:

    • Only Contact-related filters will be shown

  • If you select a Transaction record type:

    • Only Transaction-related filters will be shown

This prevents filters from being applied to incompatible record types.

What You Can Do with Global Filters

Global Filters allow you to:

  • Create new filters

  • Rename existing filters

  • Delete filters you no longer need

  • Reuse the same filter across multiple workbooks

All changes apply immediately and are reflected everywhere the filter is available.
