Run Saved Searches Against a Different NetSuite Account

ExtendInsights Analytics | How to repoint downloaded searches to another NetSuite connection

Updated yesterday

ExtendInsights Analytics allows you to connect to multiple NetSuite roles and environments (for example, Sandbox and Production).

If you previously downloaded saved searches using one connection and want to run the same searches against a different NetSuite account or role, you can update the connection without rebuilding your Excel files.

Requirements for a Seamless Update

For the update to work correctly:

  • Your Sandbox and Production environments must mirror each other

  • Saved Search names and Search IDs must match in both environments

  • The saved searches must exist in the target NetSuite account

If these conditions are not met, searches may fail or return errors.

When This Is Useful

This workflow is commonly used when:

  • You built analytics in Sandbox and want to run them in Production

  • Tokens were revoked in NetSuite, and the connection needs to be reauthenticated

  • The wrong NetSuite role or account was selected during initial setup

  • You want to reuse existing analytics across environments

How to Update a NetSuite Connection

Step 1: Open the Analytics Workbook

  • Open the Excel workbook that contains the downloaded saved searches

Step 2: Update the Connection

  1. Open the Left Menu

  2. Select Connections

  3. Locate the NetSuite connection you want to change

  4. Click the three-dot (β‹―) menu on the connection card

  5. Select Update

Step 3: Reauthenticate with NetSuite

  1. Enter the NetSuite Account ID

  2. Log in with your NetSuite credentials

  3. Select the appropriate role and click Allow

Step 4: Review Scheduled Searches

After authentication, ExtendInsights displays a preview of all scheduled saved searches associated with this connection across your workbooks.

  • Review the Status column for any errors

  • Confirm that searches are expected to run using the updated connection

If errors appear, they typically indicate:

  • Missing saved searches

  • Permission differences between environments

  • Search ID mismatches

Step 5: Confirm the Update

  • Confirm the update to complete the process

Once confirmed:

  • The connection is updated

  • All associated saved searches now run against the new NetSuite account or role

Best Practices

  • Test saved searches manually in the new environment before scheduling

  • Keep Sandbox and Production saved searches aligned

  • Use consistent naming and Search IDs across environments

  • Review permissions when switching roles or accounts
