Creating a Bank Deposit Linked to a Cash Sale

If you need to create a bank deposit that is linked to a cash sale, there are a few key steps you need to follow. By referencing the line(s) from your cash sales, you can ensure that your bank deposit is accurately recorded and linked to the correct transactions. In this article, we will walk you through the process of creating a bank deposit that is linked to a cash sale.

Step 1: Reference the Line(s) from Your Cash Sales

The first step in creating a bank deposit linked to a cash sale is to reference the line(s) from your cash sales. This is important because line numbers may change, and referencing the line(s) ensures that your bank deposit is linked to the correct transactions. To do this, you will need to have your original cash sales on hand.

In the video, the ExtendInsights Analytics app was used to get the Cash Sales from NetSuite with the Saved Search format below:

Step 2: Load Your Original Cash Sales into ExtendInsights

To make referencing the line(s) from your cash sales easier, we recommend loading your original cash sales into ExtendInsights. This will allow you to easily access and view your cash sales, making it simple to reference the line(s) you need for your bank deposit.

💡Tip! You can retrieve the Return Authorization you want to receive using a data filter, saved search, or reload action. Read on the articles below:

Step 3: Create Your Bank Deposit based on the template layout

Once you have referenced the line(s) from your cash sales and loaded them into ExtendInsights, you are ready to create your bank deposit.

Since you have the Bank Deposit template ready to be populated, you can copy and paste or use a formula from Cash Sales to your template.

Header and Line Data

  • Tran Date> Set to the date of the bank deposit. Leave empty to default to the current date.

  • Tran ID

  • Account > Set the G/L account of your bank where the funds were deposited. Leave empty to default to your default bank account.

  • Payment List: Deposit > Set this to TRUE to include this line in your bank deposit.

  • Payment List: Id > This is the internal ID of the transaction the payment to be applied

  • Payment List: Doc Number > This is the transaction number of the payment to be applied

  • Payment List: Replace All - This is a field that you mark as TRUE or FALSE. If marked FALSE, you are letting the system know you are replacing the selected line IDs. If blank, then you will need all sublist lines to create/update.

💡Tip! Those lines that have the same header values will be recognized as one record.

Step 3: Upload to NetSuite

Send the record to NetSuite, click Upload to NetSuite, and hit the Upload Records button.

Validate the upload in NetSuite. See how the record was created below:
