Once you've connected to a data source, you can create a template to download exactly the data you need into Excel.
Templates let you select fields and filters that can be reused, while schedules keep your workbooks automatically up to date.
Note: The examples below use HubSpot, but the workflow is similar for all supported data sources.
Before You Begin
To use scheduled downloads, your workbook must be stored in:
OneDrive for Business, or
SharePoint
This allows ExtendInsights to refresh the workbook automatically.
Create a Template and Download Data
Watch the video or follow the steps below:
Open ExtendInsights.
Select your data source.
Choose one of the following:
Create a New Template
Load an Existing Template
Create a new connection or select from the list of previously established connections.
Select the object or resource you want to download (for example, Contacts).
Use the search box to quickly locate fields, then select the ones you need and click Next.
Need to change a field's data type?
➡️ See Change Field Data Types.(Optional) Apply one or more filters to return only the records you need.
For example, you might filter Contacts where Last Name contains "Smith".
Click Proceed to load the template.
Optionally, enable Preview Data before clicking Proceed to validate the template configuration and preview the data that will be returned.
Choose the operation to perform.
The available actions depend on the connected data source.
📘 Learn more: See Supported Data Sources and Capabilities for a complete list of supported operations and limitations.
If you'd like to reuse this configuration in other workbooks:

Enter a template name
Click Save & Download
Otherwise, click Download.
Note: Templates that aren't saved can only be refreshed from the workbook in which they were created.
ExtendInsights downloads the selected data into Excel.
