Getting Started: Add or Switch NetSuite Connections in ExtendSync Google

ExtendSync Google | Learn how to add or switch NetSuite accounts and roles

Updated over a week ago

If you work with multiple NetSuite environments (Production and Sandbox) or have more than one NetSuite role, ExtendSync makes it easy to add and switch between connections without logging out.

This guide shows you how to:

  • Add a new NetSuite connection

  • Switch between connections and roles

  • Understand which environment you’re in at a glance

🔑 When You’d Use Multiple Connections

You may need more than one connection if:

  • You work in both Production and Sandbox

  • You test changes in Sandbox before using them in Production

  • You have different roles (e.g., Sales Rep, Manager, Admin) and switch between them

  • You support multiple NetSuite accounts (e.g., for subsidiaries or demos)

ExtendSync lets you configure these once and then switch with just a couple of clicks.

Steps to Add/Switch Connections

Step 1: Open the Connections Menu

  1. In Gmail, open the ExtendSync panel.

  2. Click the Menu (≡).

  3. Select Connections.

Here you’ll see your current connection and any others you’ve already added.

Step 2: Add a New Connection

  1. In the Connections screen, click Add.

  2. Enter your NetSuite Account ID.

  3. Click Connect to NetSuite.

NetSuite Account Number
In order to use the login flow, you will need your NetSuite Account Number. This can be located in the URL while you are logged into NetSuite in a browser. Learn how to find your NetSuite account ID here.

Step 3: Authenticate & Choose Role

  1. When prompted, enter your NetSuite credentials (if required).

  2. Choose the NetSuite role you want to use for this connection.

  3. Click Allow to grant ExtendSync access for this account + role.

This creates a saved connection that you can reuse later without re-entering details (unless credentials change).

Step 4: Confirm the New Connection

Once the connection is added:

  1. You’ll be prompted to confirm, click Yes.

  2. The new connection will now appear in your Connections list.

You can now switch between:

  • Different environments (e.g., Production vs Sandbox)

  • Different roles in the same account

without logging out of Gmail or redoing the login flow each time.

💡 Notes

Switching Between Connections

You do not need to sign out to change environments or roles.

To switch:

  1. Go to Menu → Connections

  2. Select the connection you want to use

  3. ExtendSync will switch context to that account/role

Environment Color Indicators

ExtendSync uses panel colors to show which environment you’re currently connected to:

  • 🔵 Blue – Production or Test Drive

  • 🟢 Green – Sandbox

Always double-check the color before attaching important emails or files.
