Admin: Uninstall the CloudExtend SuiteApp and Bundle from NetSuite

Step-by-step guide for NetSuite administrators to fully remove CloudExtend from your account.

Uninstalling CloudExtend from NetSuite involves removing two separate components — the CloudExtend SuiteApp and the CloudExtend Bundle.

Both must be removed in the correct order to avoid dependency errors.

Please read this guide in full before beginning.

⚠️ Warning: Uninstallation is permanent. Reinstalling CloudExtend does not restore previous configurations, sync history, or custom field data. Export any data you need before proceeding.

Who Is Required for This Process?

Role

Needed For

NetSuite Administrator

Performing both uninstallations in NetSuite

Integration / IT Admin (if applicable)

Pausing or reconfiguring any connected integrations (e.g., Celigo, Boomi, etc)

CloudExtend Account Admin

Cancelling your CloudExtend subscription post-removal (if desired)

Risks & Important Considerations

Before uninstalling, be aware of the following impacts:

Data risks:

  • CloudExtend-specific sync logs, audit history, and custom records will be permanently deleted.

  • Custom fields created by the bundle that contains WILL be deleted after uninstallation.

  • Any saved searches that reference CloudExtend custom fields will break and must be updated.

  • Historical email or calendar sync activity logged within the SuiteApp will not be recoverable.

Operational risks:

  • All active users connected through CloudExtend (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, Excel) will be immediately disconnected.

  • Any pending or in-flight transactions being synced by CloudExtend may be left in an incomplete state.

  • Email tracking, calendar sync, and automation features will stop working without end-user notification.

  • Custom scripts or workflows that reference CloudExtend record types or script IDs will generate errors.

Before You Begin

Complete the following preparation steps before starting the uninstallation:

  • Confirm you are logged in to NetSuite with an Administrator role. Standard user access will not allow bundle uninstallation.

  • Notify all CloudExtend users in advance — their access will be cut off immediately upon removal.

  • Export any CloudExtend data, field mappings, or sync history you may need for your records.

  • Disable any scheduled CloudExtend scripts or workflows in NetSuite to prevent audit log errors during removal.

  • If you use a third-party integration platform (e.g., Celigo, Boomi, MuleSoft) that connects to CloudExtend, pause those integrations first.

🚩 Tip: Perform the uninstallation during off-peak hours (outside of business hours) to minimize impact on your team and reduce the chance of a timeout on large accounts.

Step 1: Uninstall the CloudExtend SuiteApp

Start with the SuiteApp. Do not attempt to remove the Bundle first, as this can cause dependency errors.

  1. Log in to NetSuite using an Administrator role.

  2. In the navigation bar, go to Setup > SuiteCloud > Installed SuiteApps.

  3. Locate CloudExtend in the list of installed SuiteApps. Note the App ID for your records before proceeding.

  4. Click the CloudExtend app name to open its detail page.

  5. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will appear listing the components that will be removed.

  6. Review the component list carefully, then click Uninstall to confirm. The process may take several minutes on larger accounts.

  7. Wait until the status changes to Uninstalled before moving to Step 2.

Verify removal: Go back to Setup > SuiteCloud > Installed SuiteApps and confirm CloudExtend no longer appears in the list.

Step 2: Uninstall the CloudExtend Bundle

Once the SuiteApp has been fully removed, proceed to remove the associated bundle.

  1. Navigate to Customization > SuiteBundler > Search & Install Bundles, then click the List tab.

  2. Find the CloudExtend bundle in the installed bundles list (it may appear as CloudExtend Core or similar). Note the Bundle ID for your records.

  3. Click the bundle name to open its details page.

  4. Click Uninstall. A confirmation prompt will list all objects scheduled for deletion — including custom record types, scripts, and fields.

  5. Review the component list carefully, acknowledge any warnings about dependent customizations, and click Uninstall to confirm.

  6. Allow the process to complete fully. Do not navigate away from the page until the status shows Uninstalled.

Verify removal: Return to the installed bundles list and confirm CloudExtend is no longer present. Also check Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Record Types to confirm no CloudExtend custom record types remain.

Post-Uninstallation Cleanup

After both components are removed, we recommend the following cleanup steps to leave your account in a clean state:

  • Remove any CloudExtend-related roles or permission sets that were created specifically for the app.

  • Update or delete any saved searches that referenced CloudExtend custom fields to prevent broken search errors.

  • Review and update custom scripts and workflows that referenced CloudExtend script IDs or custom record types.

  • If CloudExtend was connected to a third-party integration platform, remove or reconfigure those integration flows to prevent failed sync events.

  • If you have a CloudExtend subscription, contact Celigo/CloudExtend Support to cancel the subscription and avoid continued billing.

💡 Note: In the event any custom fields or records created by the bundles persist, you can remove them manually from Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields — but only after confirming the data is no longer needed.

Troubleshooting

The Uninstall button is grayed out

This usually means another installed bundle or SuiteApp depends on CloudExtend. Go to Customization > SuiteBundler > Bundle Details and check the Required By section to identify dependencies. Remove or update those dependent bundles before retrying.

Uninstallation fails or times out

Large accounts with significant CloudExtend data may experience timeouts. Try the following:

  • Retry during off-peak hours when system load is lower.

  • Contact NetSuite Support via your SuiteAnswers portal to request an extended timeout window for the uninstallation job.

  • Check Setup > Administration > System Information > View System Log for specific error messages.

Custom fields remain after uninstallation

Bundle uninstallation does not always remove custom fields that have existing data records associated with them. After confirming you no longer need the data, delete the remaining fields manually from Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields (e.g., Entity Fields, Transaction Fields, etc.).

Scripts or workflows are throwing errors after uninstallation

Any custom scripts or workflows that reference CloudExtend objects will fail after removal. Review them in Customization > Scripting > Scripts and either update the references or deactivate the affected automations.
