Troubleshooting: “Attach file(s) / folder(s)” Button Missing on Google Drive Tab

ExtendSync Google | Enable required NetSuite role permissions for Google Drive

Updated today

If the “Attach file(s) / folder(s)” button does not appear on the Google Drive tab for any NetSuite record, it means the NetSuite role you’re using is missing required permissions.

This article explains why the button is missing and how a NetSuite Admin can restore it.

Symptoms

You may see one or more of the following:

  • Google Drive tab is visible on NetSuite records

  • Files or folders are listed, but

  • The Attach file(s) / folder(s) button is missing

  • Users cannot attach new Google Drive files or folders

Why This Happens

ExtendSync Google Drive relies on custom records and file permissions in NetSuite.

If a user’s NetSuite role does not have sufficient access to these records, NetSuite hides the Attach button.

This commonly occurs when:

  • Users are assigned custom roles, or

  • Roles were modified after ExtendSync was installed

How to Resolve the Issue

A NetSuite Administrator must update the role used by affected users.

Step 1: Navigate to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles.

Step 2: Locate the role you want to modify. Click the corresponding Edit or Customize link.

Step 3: Go to Permissions> Custom Record and add the following records:

  • Celigo GoogleDoc

  • Celigo GoogleDoc Association

  • Celigo Google Control Panel

Step 4: Go to Permissions> Lists and add Document and Files.

Final Step for Users

After the role is updated:

  1. Ask users to log out of NetSuite.

  2. Refresh or reopen their NetSuite session.

  3. Open a record with the Google Drive tab.

The Attach file(s) / folder(s) button should now be visible.

✅ Verification Checklist

Confirm the following:

✔ Required custom records are set to Full

✔ Documents and Files permission is set to Create or higher

✔ User is logged in with the updated role

✔ Google Drive tab shows the Attach button

If users can choose multiple roles, ensure permissions are added to all applicable roles.
