If you use the ExtendSync for Outlook add-in frequently, you can choose to pin the task pane so that the app stays open as you move between emails.

  • Pinned: The ExtendSync app remains open and ready for use as you navigate from message to message.

  • Unpinned: The app closes automatically when you switch emails, useful for saving screen space if you use it less often.


Who can use task pane pinning 📌 ?

All users can use task pane pinning as long as their system meets the minimum system requirements as set by Microsoft below:

How to enable task pane pinning?

📌 How to Enable Task Pane Pinning

  1. Open the ExtendSync for Outlook app in your Outlook sidebar.

  2. Locate the Pin icon 📌 next to the Close (✖️) icon in the top-right corner of the task pane.


🟢 Default Behavior

By default, the application is unpinned.

  • When unpinned, the app closes automatically each time you switch to another email.


Keep ExtendSync Open

To keep the ExtendSync pane open as you navigate through emails:

  1. Click the Pin 📌 icon.

  2. Once pinned, ExtendSync will stay open across all emails until you manually close it.

If you close the task pane at any time, you’ll need to pin it again when reopening the app.
