Getting Started: Prerequisites for ExtendSync for Outlook NetSuite

ExtendSync Outlook | Check points when using the app

Updated over a week ago

Before you begin using ExtendSync for Outlook and NetSuite, admins need to make sure the following requirements are in place.

Review Outlook add-in requirements

The following clients support Outlook add-ins:

  • Outlook with a Microsoft 365 subscription*

  • Outlook for iOS

  • Outlook on Android

  • Support Exchange Online (See set requirements by Microsoft here)

  • Outlook.com

The client MUST be connected to an Exchange server or Microsoft 365 using a direct connection. When configuring the client, the user must choose an Exchange, Office 365, or Outlook.com account type. If the client is configured to connect with POP3 or IMAP, add-ins will not load.

Subscription Requirements

  • You must have an active or trial subscription for one of these plans:
    Starter or Enterprise Edition.

  • The free version of ExtendSync was discontinued on August 6, 2024.

Admin Setup Requirements

  • Your NetSuite and Microsoft 365 administrators need to complete these setup steps before users can connect successfully.

    1. Install the CloudExtend SuiteApp in NetSuite.

    2. Enable the Microsoft Grant

      • This step must be completed by a Microsoft 365 Administrator to grant API permissions.

      • πŸ“ If your organization already uses Autopilot, this step is not required.

    3. Access to the CloudExtend Portal

About the New App (Released August 2024)

  1. Your user identity is no longer tied to your NetSuite account.

  2. You can sign in with your Microsoft 365 email, then connect to one or more NetSuite accounts or roles using your NetSuite credentials.

  3. Multiple accounts and roles are now supported.
