ExtendInsights Data Management provides multiple ways to retrieve data from NetSuite. One common and powerful method is using NetSuite Saved Searches to pull a specific set of records directly into Excel.

How to Download Data Using a Saved Search (No Template)

If you’re new to ExtendInsights and want to pull a subset of data from NetSuite, you can create a template and download data in one flow.

Watch the video or follow the steps below.

Step 1: Start Search and Download

From the ExtendInsights welcome screen, click Search and Download.

Step 2: Select the Record Type

  • Type or scroll to select the NetSuite record or transaction type.

  • ExtendInsights supports standard records and Custom Records.

    Example: Vendor Bill

Step 3: Select Fields for the Template

  • Search or scroll to find fields.

  • Check the box next to each field and click Add fields.

  • Use the + icon to add more fields as needed.

Step 4: Apply a Saved Search Filter

  1. Click Continue, then select Yes.

    ⚠️ Loading a template clears existing data on the worksheet.

  2. Turn on Apply Filters.

  3. Select Using Saved Search.

Step 5: Download Data

  • Choose the Saved Search you want to use.

  • Select the filter to apply.

  • Click Download Data to stream records from NetSuite into Excel.

💡 Tip:
You can create multiple filters and switch between them as needed.

Step 6: Save the Template

  • Turn on Save As Template.

  • Click Save and Download to load and save the template for future use.


How to Download Data Using a Saved Search (Existing Template)

If you already have a template and want to pull NetSuite data into it.

Watch the video or follow the steps below.

Step 1: Start with a Template

  • Ensure Start with a Template is turned ON.

  • Click Search and Download with Template.

Step 2: Select the Template

  • Choose the template you want to use.

  • Click the Play button to proceed.

Step 3: Apply Filters

  • Turn on Apply Filters.

  • Reuse an existing Saved Search filter, or

  • Click the + icon to add new Saved Search criteria.

Step 4: Download Data

  • Click Save and Download.

  • ExtendInsights will stream the Saved Search results into your template.

💡 Tip:
You can create and store multiple filters, then switch between them easily.


About Saved Search Filters

  • Filters are global to your NetSuite account

  • Available across:

    • Different workbooks

    • New Excel files

    • Desktop or Excel Online

  • As long as you’re connected to the same NetSuite account, your filters remain available
