FAQ

πŸ”΅ What is CloudExtend Excel Data Management for NetSuite NextGen?

This is the next-generation CloudExtend Excel for NetSuite and has a sleeker interface and more intuitive user experience with a lot of exciting features.

πŸ”΅ Can I run both apps (NextGen and Legacy version) in parallel?

Yes, with some limitations. There are two paths to the NextGen App

  • Use the 'Try out our new app' option in the left menu. This will allow you to switch between the current version and the NextGen version, however templates saved in NextGen will not sync back to the current version. Templates created in NextGen will, however, be preserved when you ultimately decide to move completely to the NextGen App (see next bullet point)

  • Use the 'Upgrade Now' option presented on the home screen. This will start a 1-2 minute migration process where all your templates from production will be migrated to your NextGen app. Once the migration is complete you will no longer be able to switch between apps. If you previously were using NextGen and had created templates there those templates will also be available to you.

πŸ”΅ What will happen if I don't upgrade to the NextGen after March 11, 2024?

After March 11, 2024 you will be shown a message that the current version of the application is deprecated, and you will be prompted to switch to the new version. You will not have access to legacy version of the app. You would have time till March 22, 2024 to upgrade to new version. We will automatically upgrade any remaining accounts on March 23, 2024. This upgrade will reference your current NetSuite email during migration. As long as you sign in to the new app with the same email, all of your data and templates will be there.

πŸ”΅ I chose the wrong Microsoft email Id while upgrading to the new app. How can I change it now?

It is particularly important that you choose the correct Microsoft 365 Id or Google account during the upgrade process. If you chose the wrong Id by mistake and now want to change it, you have the following option based on the edition you are using.

  • Personal Edition - Visit support.cloudextend.io and start a chat with our support team and they will be able to make the switch.

  • Enterprise Edition - Contact your admin to make the change in the CloudExtend subscription portal and ask them to change your licensed email address to the desired Microsoft or Google Id.

  • Consultant Edition - Contact your admin to make the change in the CloudExtend subscription portal and ask them to change your licensed email address to the desired Microsoft or Google Id.

πŸ”΅ What is the difference between the NextGen and Legacy version?

The NextGen provides an improved user experience along with some exciting additions mentioned here. In addition to all the features supported in the production version, the NextGen also has the ability to do complex Pricing Matrix Updates for Items and Advanced Bin Management updates which were only part of Classic edition of the app.

πŸ”΅ Do I need a license or should I start a trial to use the NextGen app?

No, you don't need any additional license to start using the NextGen. Once you select the option to try out the NextGen for first time and login with either your Microsoft or Google account, your CloudExtend Excel license will now be mapped to the Microsoft or Google ID and you can start using the NextGen app without having to start the trial.

πŸ”΅ Can I login to NextGen with my Google account if I've already logged in with my Microsoft account?

No, we don't recommend using both login options for same user. You can either login with Microsoft or Google to use the NextGen. If you try logging in with the other option that you initially didn't choose you would be prompted to start a trial as your license is bound to either Microsoft or Google and not both.

πŸ”΅ Can I login with my Google account if I don't have a Microsoft 365 subscription?

Yes. We have added this option to Login with Google to support users who don't have a Microsoft 365 subscription but want to use the NextGen app. So yes, you can login with Google and use the NextGen app even though you don't have a Microsoft 365 subscription.

πŸ”΅ Why am I seeing the trial form in the NextGen app even though I have an active subscription for CloudExtend Excel Data Management for NetSuite?

This could happen if you had chosen one login option at the time of switching to NextGen app for first time but now when you are trying the NextGen app in a new browser or loaded it after cache clear you selected a different login option. For example, if you had selected Login with Microsoft initially when you tried the NextGen, your license was mapped to your Microsoft account. So now in a different browser when you try to Login with Google it prompts you to start a trial. We recommend you use the same Login option in all environments (online and desktop).

πŸ”΅ I am using the Classic edition of CloudExtend Excel for NetSuite (also known as SmartClient). Should I use the NextGen?

Yes. The features exclusively supported by Classic Edition like Inventory detail support, and pricing matrix support are part of the NextGen version and we encourage you to try the NextGen as we intend to retire the Legacy edition on March 31, 2024.
