Template Layout
💡 Tip: It is best to check out the forms and fields and identify the header, column, and required fields in NetSuite that you may need to build the template.
If you are using NetSuite Classic Interface you can go to:
List >Relationships > Projects and click View next to the project that you want to create a project task for.
Title
Company
Status
Parent
Planned Work (Optional)
Assignee List: Resource
Assignee List: Units
Assignee List: Service Item
Assignee List: Planned Work
Assignee List: Unit Cost

Create Project Task
To create one record, those lines that have the same header values will be recognized as one record.
Step 1: Build the template and create the Parent Task
Once the template is loaded, you can start creating a Parent task. Add the Title and assign the Company then upload to NetSuite.
Step 2: Assign Child Project Task to the Parent
Open another worksheet and load the same template. Depending on the number of tasks you need to complete the task, repeat the Company and Parent values.
In the example below, this will create 10 child project tasks for Parent Task 1.
The lines that have the same header values will be recognized as one record. The template below will be based on the following fields:
Company
Parent
Status
Planned Work
Step 3: Upload and then validate the Project Tasks created
This is how it looks like in NetSuite. It created one record and all the child tasks and assigned Service Items are now reflected in the Project Assignment tab of the Parent Project 1 for 3M.
