This guide walks NetSuite administrators through everything needed to get up and running with the ExtendInsights Financial Reporting Add-in for Microsoft Excel.
Please read all sections before beginning.
Who Is Required for the Initial Setup?
To complete the setup, the following roles are required. In some organizations, one person may perform multiple roles. These users do not need to complete their steps at the same time.
Subscription Admin https://portal.cloudextend.app/
A user with NetSuite admin rights
(Optional). A user with GLOBAL ADMIN rights to your Microsoft 365 environment
Before You Begin
Before starting the setup, confirm the following:
You have an active or trial Enterprise subscription for ExtendInsights Financial Engine
Users who will work in Excel to pull data from NetSuite
Review Excel Add-In Requirements
ExtendInsights works with the following Excel environments:
Excel 2019 or later
Excel with a Microsoft 365 subscription (recommended)
Excel Online
📝 Note:
If users cannot install add-ins from Microsoft AppSource, share this guide with your Microsoft 365 Administrator.
Core Setup (Required)
The following steps must be completed before users can begin using ExtendInsights.

3. Configure standard NetSuite prerequisites | NetSuite Admin | Configure the required NetSuite features and baseline role permissions used by all ExtendInsights applications. | |
4. Configure Financial Reporting Engine permissions | NetSuite Admin | Complete the additional NetSuite configuration required for XAVI, including SuiteAnalytics Workbook, accounting preferences, and Financial Reporting Engine role permissions. | |
5. Assign user licenses | Subscription Admin | Assign Financial Reporting Engine licenses in the CloudExtend Portal. | |
5. Install ExtendInsights Excel add-in | End Users or Microsoft Admin | Install the ExtendInsights Excel add-in from Microsoft AppSource or deploy it centrally across your organization. |

6. Log in and connect to NetSuite | End Users | Each user opens the add-in in Excel, logs in with their Microsoft 365 account, and selects their NetSuite role and environment |
✅ Setup Complete
Your deployment is complete when:
The CloudExtend NetSuite bundle has been installed.
Standard NetSuite prerequisites have been configured.
Financial Reporting Engine-specific permissions have been configured.
User licenses have been assigned.
Users have installed the Excel add-in.
Users can successfully sign in and begin using XAVI formulas.
