This article helps you identify the correct setup guide based on the ExtendInsights application(s) your organization uses with NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
Who is required for the initial setup?
Three roles may be needed for setup. In smaller organizations, one person may cover more than one role.
Role | What They Do |
Subscription Admin | Assigns and manages user licenses in the CloudExtend portal |
NetSuite Admin | Installs the bundle and configures role permissions |
Microsoft 365 Admin (optional) | Centrally deploys the Excel add-in across the organization. Optionally, end users can install on their own. |
Choose your Path
If you are using... | Best For | Setup Guide |
ExtendInsights Data Management and Analytics for NetSuite | Both setup instructions for the Data Management and Analytics app
ExtendInsights Data Management for NetSuite | Create, update, and delete NetSuite records directly in Excel
ExtendInsights Analytics for NetSuite | Use Saved Searches and SuiteQL to stream data from NetSuite to Excel
ExtendInsights Financial Reporting Engine for NetSuite | Build dynamic financial reports in Excel using live NetSuite data and XAVI formulas
ExtendInsights Other Connections Salesforce, Google Analytics, Chargebee, HubSpot, Stripe | Import data from multiple systems, automate data refreshes and schedules, and analyze data directly in Excel |
✅ Next Steps
Once you've identified the right app, follow the linked setup guide for your role. Each guide walks admins through bundle installation, permission configuration, and license assignment so your team can get started quickly.
💡 Notes
Your organization can use more than one ExtendInsights app. Each app has its own setup guide and NetSuite bundle.
End users can install the Excel add-in themselves from Microsoft AppSource without needing a Microsoft 365 Admin.
