The Menu in ExtendInsights Data Management is the central place to manage your connections, templates, uploads, and settings. This article explains each menu option and what you can do from each section.
⚠️ Important: Menu Options Vary by License
The Menu view described in this article applies to users who have both:
ExtendInsights Data Management NetSuite
ExtendInsights Analytics NetSuite and Other Connections
If you are licensed for Data Management only, your Menu will look slightly different.
What’s Different for Data Management–Only Users
You will not see Analytics-specific options such as:
Scheduling
Analytics-related settings
Microsoft grant status for scheduling
This is expected behavior and does not indicate a configuration issue.
Menu Overview
From the Menu, you can:
View upload status and logs
Switch NetSuite roles and environments
Access and manage templates
Configure upload behavior and global settings
Manage connections to NetSuite and other data sources
Upload Status
The Upload Status section shows logs for data sent to NetSuite.
Here you can:
View uploads currently in progress
Review historical uploads
See whether a job completed successfully or failed
When an upload is running, you’ll also see a Check Status button in the app that links directly to this page.
Data Sources
If your organization connects ExtendInsights to multiple platforms, the Data Sources section lets you switch between them.
Examples include:
NetSuite
Salesforce
Google Analytics
Chargebee
Stripe
HubSpot
Templates
Templates define how Excel maps to NetSuite records.

ExtendInsights provides ready-to-use templates for some record types. These templates can be used as-is or customized; no need to start from scratch! | Organization Templates Templates shared within your organization will appear here. These are great for teams using a standard structure, helping ensure consistency across users.
My Templates If your NetSuite form has a custom structure, creating a template from scratch is ideal. This allows you to include all necessary fields tailored to your process. Once created, your custom templates will be stored in this section. |
Connections
NetSuite Connections
This section displays the NetSuite roles and environments connected to ExtendInsights.
From here you can:
Switch between Production, Sandbox, or Test Drive
Switch NetSuite roles without signing out
Click Add to connect an additional NetSuite account
💡 Note:
Templates are stored per NetSuite account.
Other Connections
If you’ve configured additional platforms, they’ll appear here, such as:
Salesforce
Google Analytics
Chargebee
Stripe
HubSpot
Settings
The Settings section lets you customize how ExtendInsights behaves.
Data Operations
Background Upload is recommended for large data sets. Once activated, the records will be pushed to NetSuite in one go and will be put in the processing queue. You can move to other sheets or upload jobs simultaneously when using this feature.

Background Upload
Recommended for large datasets
Submits records asynchronously
Allows you to continue working or close Excel while uploads run
Use Selected Rows Only
A global setting that controls row selection behavior for uploads.
Go to Menu → Settings
Toggle Use Selected Rows Only on or off
When enabled, only selected rows are uploaded by default.
Microsoft Grant Scheduling (If Licensed with Analytics)
If you’re licensed for ExtendInsights Analytics, you’ll also see:
Microsoft grant status required for scheduling
Analytics-related scheduling options
These options will not appear for Data Management–only users.
