ExtendInsights stores your saved templates in the Template Repository, making it easy to reuse them whenever you need to download, analyze, or manage data.
This article explains how to:
Load an existing template
Update a saved template
Delete a template you no longer need
Access the Template Repository
Open ExtendInsights and navigate to:
Menu → Templates
All templates you've created are stored in the Template Repository.
⚠️ Important
Before loading a template, create a new workbook or switch to a blank worksheet.
Loading a template replaces the contents of the active worksheet.
Load a Template
You can load a template from either the Menu or the Home screen.
Option 1: From the Menu
Open ExtendInsights.
Go to Menu → Templates → Other Templates.
Select the template you want to load.
The template is loaded into the active worksheet.
Select the connection you want to use.
Choose the operation you want to perform (depending on the template type).
Option 2: From the Home Screen
Open ExtendInsights.
Locate the Template list on the Home screen.
Select the template you want to load.
The template loads into the active worksheet.
Select the appropriate connection.
Continue with the desired operation.
Update an Existing Template
If you need to modify the fields or configuration of a saved template:
Open ExtendInsights.
Go to Menu → Templates → Other Templates.
Select the template you want to edit.
Choose the connection to use.
You can use any compatible connection, including different accounts or supported data sources.
Expand the Configure section.
Update the template settings, such as the selected fields or other available configuration options.
Click Next.
If prompted, click Proceed to load the updated template into the worksheet.
Make any additional changes as needed, then save the template to preserve your updates.
Delete a Template
To remove a template from the Template Repository:
Open ExtendInsights.
Go to Menu → Templates → Other Templates.
Hover over the template you want to remove.
Click the ⋮ (three-dot menu).
Select Delete.
The template is removed from your Template Repository. This action does not delete any data from your connected data source.
Verification
Your template has been managed successfully when:
The selected template loads into the worksheet.
Updated templates reflect your latest configuration.
Deleted templates no longer appear in the Template Repository.
Best Practices
Use descriptive names to make templates easy to identify.
Create separate templates for different business processes or data sources.
Open a blank worksheet before loading a template to avoid overwriting existing work.
Review the selected connection before running any operations.
