ExtendSync Google | Know how to create Partner record in Gmail

Updated over a week ago

With ExtendSync Google, you can create and save new Partner records directly from your inbox, no need to switch between Google and NetSuite.

ExtendSync respects the permissions of your assigned NetSuite role. Your administrator must enable each record type for your role to allow you to create or update records.

Step 1: Open Gmail and Access ExtendSync

  1. Launch Gmail in your Chrome browser and ensure the ExtendSync add-in is installed and active.

  2. Click on on the side panel and look for the ExtendSync icon.

  3. Open an email that contains the Partner information you want to save.

Step 2: Create the Partner record

  1. Look for the email address and click on the + sign then choose Partner.

  2. Select all the mandatory and preferred fields. To customize your form, click on the Configure field button to update the form layout. Click here to learn more about customizing form.

  3. Enter values in all necessary fields, ensuring mandatory fields are completed, such as:

    • Company (If not marked as Individual or is Person)

    • Subsidiary (Mandatory for NetSuite One-World Users)

Step 3: Save the Partner

  1. Click Save to create the record in NetSuite.

  2. ExtendSync will process the request and confirm when the record is successfully created.

Common Errors and FAQ

πŸ”΅ Can a custom form be set when creating a record?

πŸ”΅ Why are Custom fields not showing?

  • By default, only standard NetSuite fields are displayed. If your record includes required custom fields, validation will fail unless those fields are added manually.

    To fix:

    1. Ask your NetSuite Admin to grant permission to view your custom fields.

    2. Once permissions are updated, reload the ExtendSync add-in and add the fields using Configure Fields.

πŸ’‘ Note: Each user must configure their own form layout in ExtendSync.
