Troubleshooting: How can I expose the ExtendSync Add-In to the ribbon in Outlook

If the ExtendSync add-in isn’t visible on your Outlook ribbon, follow the steps below based on the version of Outlook you are using.


New Outlook or Outlook on the Web

Step 1: Open Customize Actions

  • Select any email

  • Click the three dots (⋯) in the toolbar

  • Choose Customize actions

Step 2: Enable ExtendSync

  • Find ExtendSync in the list

  • Check the box next to it

  • Click Save

Step 3: Reload Outlook

  • Close and reopen Outlook (or refresh the page if using Outlook Web)

ExtendSync should now appear in your message toolbar.


Classic Outlook

Step 1: Open Outlook Options

Go to:
File → Options

Step 2: Customize the Ribbon

  1. Select Customize Ribbon

  2. Under Main Tabs, check the box for Add-Ins

Step 3: Save & Reload

  • Click OK

  • Restart Outlook

The ExtendSync add-in should now be visible on your ribbon.


Still Not Seeing the Add-In?

If ExtendSync still does not appear:

  • Ensure the add-in is installed from Get Add-ins / My Add-ins

  • Verify your Outlook client supports add-ins

  • Try switching between New Outlook and Classic Outlook modes (Windows only)
