FAQ: Deploy Send from Outlook to a NetSuite Record

If the Send from Outlook feature is enabled for your organization but you don’t see the Email using CloudExtend button on certain record types, you’ll need to deploy the Send from Outlook script in NetSuite.

Follow the steps below to make the feature visible on the record types of your choice.


How to Deploy the Scriptto a NetSuite Record

Step 1: In NetSuite, go to Customization > Scripting > Scripts

Step 2: In the filters:

  • Set type User Event

  • Set API Version 2.1

Step 3: Locate the script named: CloudExtend MailApps - Send From Outlook.

Step 4: Click Deploy Script.

  • In the Applies To field, select the record type where you want the Send from Outlook button to appear.

  • Update the following fields:

    • Status: Released

    • Log Level: Debug

    • Roles: Select the roles that should have access to the button.

Step 5: Click Save.


Verify Deployment

To confirm where the script is deployed:

  • Go to the Deployments subtab within the same script record.

  • Review the list of record types that have the Send from Outlook button enabled.

To confirm where the Send from Outlook script is deployed:

  1. Return to the script record (CloudExtend MailApps – Send From Outlook).

  2. Open the Deployments subtab.

  3. Review the list of record types with active deployments these are the record types where the Email using CloudExtend button will appear.

🔍 If a record type is missing, repeat the deployment steps and ensure the Status is set to Released.


Troubleshooting

If the Email using CloudExtend button still doesn’t appear:

  • Make sure the record is in View mode (not Edit).

  • Check that your role is included in the deployment’s Audience list.

  • Verify the script’s Status = Released.

  • Ensure Send from Outlook is enabled in your organization and prerequisites have been met.
