If Email Autopilot can’t save an email to a NetSuite custom record, the email may show an error in ExtendSync Logs. This article explains how a NetSuite admin can update the connected role and how users can reconnect and retry.
Symptoms / Error Message
You may see one or both of these symptoms:
ExtendSync displays:
An unexpected error occurred. Error ID mvu5zkgaenk1pkct0xbj.You retry an email that previously failed, but it remains in In Progress status.
Why This Happens
NetSuite requires the connected role to have access to custom record type and custom transaction type metadata. If the role lacks these permissions, ExtendSync may be unable to complete the email save.
This is a NetSuite permission requirement. It can affect users after NetSuite enforces stricter permissions for these types.
How to Resolve the Issue
NetSuite Admin
Update the role used for the user’s ExtendSync connection:
In NetSuite, go to Setup → Users/Roles → Manage Roles.
Find the role used by the affected user’s ExtendSync connection, then click Edit or Customize.
Open Permissions → Setup.
Add or update these permissions to View or higher:
Custom Record Types
Custom Transaction Types
Save the role.
Make sure you update the role used by the affected user’s connection. Updating a different role will not resolve the issue.
ExtendSync Outlook End User
After your NetSuite admin updates the role:
In ExtendSync, add a new NetSuite connection and sign in with the role that received the updated permissions.
Confirm that the new connection is selected.
Save a new email using Email Autopilot.
Open Logs and check the email’s status.

If the earlier email still shows as failed, retry it from Logs.
Verification / What to Expect
The fix is working when:
A new email saves to NetSuite successfully.
The email appears as Success in ExtendSync Logs.
Retried emails no longer remain stuck in In Progress.
Best Practices
Confirm that the user selected the connection associated with the updated NetSuite role.
If the error continues, ask your NetSuite admin to verify both permissions and confirm the role assigned to the connection.
