Syncing Attachments and Inline Images
You can attach files to NetSuite records in two ways:
- Sync All Attachments β sync every file from the email. 
- Sync Selected Attachments β choose specific files to sync. 
Where does the file get stored in NetSuite?
By default, when you sync file attachments through ExtendSync it will be saved to the record along with the email.
π To verify files on a record:
- Open the record in NetSuite. 
- Go to Communication β Messages tab. 
- Click the email message β attachments appear in the Attachments section. 
The files are uploaded to the NetSuite File Cabinet automatically and each file is stored under Documents β Files β Attachments Received.
How to View Emails in NetSuite
When an email is attached to the file. It will be on the Communication under the Messages tab. The files will be shown in the attachment section.
Message View Components

Customize Your Message View
To view actual email addresses instead of entity names, follow these steps:
- In NetSuite, open a record and go to Communication β Messages. 
- Click Customize View. 
- In the Results tab: - Add Author Email and To fields. 
- (Optional) Remove Author and Primary Recipient to declutter your view.

Timeline View (Dashboard)
To get a complete view of all emails and activities across a customer, lead, or prospect record:
- Go to the Dashboard View of a record. 
- Add the Timeline portlet. 
- Review all related communications, transactions, and interactions in one consolidated view. 
π‘ Tip: This is especially helpful for account managers or sales teams to see a complete communication history at a glance.
ExtendDocs Users
If your organization uses ExtendDocs, attachments and inline images are stored in OneDrive/SharePoint instead of the NetSuite File Cabinet β saving NetSuite storage space while maintaining full visibility.
