You can select NetSuite records and sync your Outlook emails — including file attachments or inline images — by clicking the 📎 paperclip icon in the ExtendSync selection pane.
By default, all files are stored in your NetSuite File Cabinet.
💡 Tip: If your organization uses ExtendDocs, attachments and inline images are stored in OneDrive/SharePoint, helping reduce NetSuite storage usage while keeping everything accessible from your records.
One-Time Save
With the One-Time Save method, you manually save each email to NetSuite.
Steps to Save Emails and Attachments
Step 1: Switch to the “One-Time” tab in ExtendSync.
Step 2: Select the record(s) where you want to save the email.
To attach to additional records, use the Search box to find them manually.
Step 3: Click the 📎 paperclip icon to include attachments:
Sync All Attachments → Click the clip at the top, select files, then Apply.
Sync Selected Attachments → Click the clip beside each record, select the file(s), then Apply.
Step 4: (Optional) Turn on the “Include Inline Images” toggle to sync embedded images.
Step 5: Click Associate Email to save.
Autopilot for Emails (Enterprise Only)
Automatically sync emails (and optionally attachments) using Autopilot.
You can choose from two Autopilot methods:
Updates to this Thread — Syncs replies within a single thread.
To/From/CC (Email Address-Based) — Syncs all future messages to/from specific addresses.
Steps to Configure Autopilot with Attachments
Step 1: Switch to the “Autopilot” tab in ExtendSync.
Step 2: Choose Updates to this thread or To/From/CC (Email AP).
Step 3: Select the NetSuite record(s) to associate emails with.
If the record isn’t listed, use the Search box to find and add it.
Step 4: Click the 📎 paperclip icon to include attachments:
Sync All Attachments → Click the clip at the top, select files, then Apply.
Sync Selected Attachments → Click the clip beside each record, select the file(s), then Apply.
Step 5: (Optional) Turn on the “Include Inline Images” toggle to sync embedded images for current email.
Step 6: (Optional) To sync attachments for future emails, go to the Future Emails section. Turn ON Attachments and/or Inline Images.
Step 7: Once done, click Start Autopilot.
💡 Note:
For Autopilot, by default attachments are only included in the first email, not in subsequent ones. The file/s will be stored in the NetSuite file cabinet.
To include attachment for future emails, Attachment Autopilot should be turned on by admin.
Attachments are stored in the NetSuite File Cabinet, or in OneDrive/SharePoint if using ExtendDocs.
Save Attachments to OneDrive & SharePoint
If you’ve already linked a OneDrive or SharePoint folder to a NetSuite record, saving Outlook attachments to that folder will automatically make them visible in NetSuite.
Save attachments directly to your associated OneDrive/SharePoint folder.
If you have enabled desktop sync it's even easier, save the attachment to your synced OneDrive or SharePoint folder on your desktop.
Files or Folders appear in NetSuite without consuming any NetSuite storage space!
If your organization uses ExtendDocs, attachments and inline images are stored in OneDrive/SharePoint, helping reduce NetSuite storage usage while keeping everything accessible from your records.
💡 This approach keeps storage costs low while maintaining full visibility in NetSuite.
