Troubleshooting: Can I login to ExtendSync Outlook on a Mobile device with a role that requires 2FA?

ExtendSync Outlook | Using Outlook mobile with NetSuite roles that require two-factor authentication

Updated this week

Yes. ExtendSync for Outlook (NetSuite Edition) fully supports Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on mobile devices.

Users can log in to the Outlook mobile app using the same secure authentication flow used on desktop and web.

No additional configuration is required.

How 2FA Works on Mobile

When logging in to ExtendSync from the Outlook mobile app:

  • The same three-step authentication flow is used as on desktop and web

  • You will complete your normal 2FA verification, such as:

    • Authenticator app

    • SMS code

    • Hardware or token-based method

  • Authentication is handled securely by NetSuite

If your NetSuite role requires 2FA, ExtendSync will prompt for it automatically during login.

What This Means for You

  • The login and security experience on mobile is identical to that on desktop and web.

  • You’ll receive and complete your 2FA verification (via your usual method e.g., token, SMS, or authenticator app) during the login process.

  • No additional configuration or permissions are required.

If You’re Still Unable to Log In

If login fails on mobile despite 2FA support, check the following:

  • You are using the latest version of the Outlook mobile app

  • Your NetSuite role is allowed to:

    • Log in using access tokens

    • Use Web Services

  • You are selecting the correct NetSuite role during login

  • Your 2FA method is working correctly outside of ExtendSync
