Troubleshooting: ExtendSync for Google NetSuite is disabled

ExtendSync Google | Re-enable the ExtendSync Chrome extension after permission changes

Updated this week

From time to time, Google releases updates to Chrome or reviews installed extensions. After these updates, Chrome may require users to re-approve permissions for certain extensions.

When this happens, the ExtendSync Chrome extension may be disabled until permissions are accepted again..Β

Symptoms

You may see one or more of the following:

  • ExtendSync appears disabled in Chrome

  • A warning or notification icon (!) appears next to the extension

  • ExtendSync does not load in Gmail until permissions are re-approved

Why This Happens

Chrome periodically:

  • Updates security and permission requirements

  • Reviews extensions after browser updates

As part of this process, Chrome may temporarily disable ExtendSync and prompt you to accept permissions again.

This is expected Chrome behavior and does not indicate a problem with ExtendSync.

How to Re-Enable ExtendSync

  1. In Chrome, locate the ExtendSync extension in the toolbar.

  2. Click the warning icon (!) next to the extension.

  3. Review the permission prompt.

  4. Click Accept (or Allow) to re-enable the extension.

Once permissions are accepted, ExtendSync will immediately be re-enabled.

About the Permission Request

As of February 1, 2019, ExtendSync may request the following permission:

β€œRead and change your data on celigo-secure-resources-s3-amazonaws.com”

Why this is required:

  • ExtendSync is hosted on AWS (Amazon Web Services)

  • This domain is used to securely load application resources

πŸ“ Important:

  • No user data is transferred through this URL

  • The permission is required solely for the application to function

βœ… Verify the Fix

After accepting permissions:

  • Open Gmail

  • Click on an email

  • Launch the ExtendSync panel

If the app loads normally, the issue is resolved.

Additional Tips

  • If you don’t see the permission prompt, go to:
    Chrome β†’ Extensions β†’ ExtendSync β†’ Enable

  • If Chrome is IT-managed, permission changes may require admin approval.

  • Restarting Chrome can help surface the permission prompt.
