How to use Send from Outlook

Step 1: Open a record in NetSuite
Click the Email using CloudExtend button.
Compose the email - ExtenSync supports for all NetSuite templates and attachments by leveraging the native NetSuite email interface.
Once the email is composed, click the Send from Outlook button.
Step 2: Validate email in NetSuite
Go to the Communication tab then Messages. While email is in processs, you will see a notification Pending Processing via Outlook in the Message column.
Once email is sent in Outlook, the temporary message will be replaced with the actual email details.
💡 Tip: The default view of the message record does not show the email snippet. Check out the instructions here to customize your view.
Step 3: Find the email in Outlook
The sent email will be available in your Sent Items folder in Outlook with category applied.
Moving forward any subsequent emails will be logged in NetSuite for Enterprise users that have thread-based Autopilot turned on.
Things to Note
When composing email inside NetSuite using the Send from Outlook feature, take note of the following:
The Email using CloudExtend pop-up should not be reloaded.
Record should be in view mode when using Email using CloudExtend pop-up. Any record operations like edit should not be done.
Email using CloudEtend button will not be available on locked NetSuite records.
Message View Tip
The default view of the message record does not show the email snippet and author's email. To configure your Messsage view.
Step 1: In NetSuite, open a record you wish to send an email from then scroll down to Communication > Messages Tab.
Step 2: Click Customized View.
Step 3: A new window titled Customize Message Search Results will open.
Add Message Column
Go to the Results tab.
Search for Message, then click Add to include the message snippet column.
Update the Search Title (optional but helpful for future use).
Rearrange the fields by hovering over a field and dragging it using the six dots on the left.

If you prefer to see the actual email addresses of senders and recipients instead of just entity names, you can customize your default view:
Add the following fields to your view:
Author Email
To
(Optional) Remove these fields to declutter your view:
Author
Primary Recipient
This setup will give you a clearer picture of the actual email communications by displaying direct email addresses and email content.
