Overview
From time to time, CloudExtend may offer a Preview version of ExtendSync for Outlook. Preview builds provide early access to new features and allow customers to share feedback before those features are released to production.
Preview versions are time-limited and intended for evaluation only.
Important
Before installing a preview build, check with your administrator.
Your admin may prefer to:
Deploy the preview centrally from Microsoft 365, or
Restrict preview installs in your organization
Before You Begin
Preview builds replace the production version
You can reinstall the production version at any time from the Microsoft Office Store
The Preview version will expire when we launch the next production build.
Installing the Preview Version
Installing the preview version requires two steps:
Remove the current production version
Install the preview build
Step 1: Remove the Production Version
Removing the production version ensures there are no conflicts.
In Outlook, click Get Add-Ins from the Home tab
In Outlook on the web (OWA), click the three dots (…) on any email and scroll to Get Add-Ins
Select My Add-Ins
Locate ExtendSync
Click … (ellipsis) on the add-in tile and select Remove
💡 Note
You can reinstall the production version later from the Office Store.
Step 2: Install the Preview Version
Click Get Add-Ins again
Select My Add-Ins
Scroll to Add a custom add-in
Choose Add from URL
Paste the Preview Manifest URL when prompted
Confirm the installation when prompted
💡 Note
The preview URL will be provided by CloudExtend when a preview program is active.
✅ You’re All Set
Once installed, you are now running the ExtendSync Preview version.
You may see preview-specific indicators or messaging inside the app.
Removing the Preview Version
Preview builds are temporary. When a new production version is released:
You’ll see an in-app notification indicating the preview has expired
The preview version must be removed and replaced with the production build
To remove the preview version:
Follow the same steps used to remove the production version
Select the Preview add-in instead
Reinstall the production version from the Microsoft Office Store
