Permission Errors with CloudExtend Excel for NetSuite

Issue

If you receive an error like the one below ("You do not have permissions to set a value for element [element] due to one of the following reasons: 1) The field is read-only; 2) An associated feature is disabled; 3) The field is available either when a record is created or updated, but not in both cases read on.

Solution

This error typically occurs when the user's default form for the record type does not expose the field they are updating. There are two ways to address this.

  1. Change the user's default form in NetSuite
  2. Add the field 'Custom Form' to the user's Excel template and select the form that exposes the field from the picklist.
