Working with Templates: Sharing Templates

XLNS NextGen | Learn how to share a template with other users in your organization

Updated over a week ago

CloudExtend Excel Data Management NextGen supports Organization templates. Templates saved as organization templates are automatically available to all licensed users in your org.

How shared organization templates work

When you are saving a template, you will see an option to save the template as a shared organization template. Once selected, this template will now be visible to all licensed users in your organization under the Organization Templates section.

Newly Created Template

After building the template, ENABLE the following:

  • Save as a Template

  • Share within the Organization

Share Existing Templates to Organization

Step 1: Hit Menu > Templates.

Step 2: Hover on the name then click the 3 dots.

Step 3: Hit Edit> Edit Template.

Step 4: Add fields or Cancel to see the current structure of the template then click Continue.

Step 5: Enable the Share within the organization button.

πŸ”΅ Can we use the template shared or received from another user?

  • Yes, you can. It will be recognized by the CloudExtend app.

πŸ”΅ Will the calculations and formulas still work using our existing workbooks?

  • Yes! No need to change the current process that you have. The workbooks that you are using right now will work as is.

πŸ”΅ I'm still using the legacy version of Excel Data Management, how can I switch to the latest version?

  • There are things we need to check before upgrading to NextGen, it would be best to communicate with Admin before doing anything. See the guide here to UPGRADE.
