Troubleshooting: How to Check if Third-Party Cookies Are Enabled

ExtendSync Google | Ensure Chrome cookie settings allow ExtendSync to function properly

Updated this week

ExtendSync for Google NetSuite relies on browser cookies to authenticate and load securely within Gmail.

If third-party cookies are blocked, some ExtendSync features may not work correctly.

This guide shows you how to check your Chrome settings and configure them appropriately.

Why Third-Party Cookies Matter

If third-party cookies are blocked, you may experience issues such as:

  • ExtendSync not loading fully

  • Authentication failures

  • Settings not persisting

  • Missing features within the ExtendSync panel

Option A: Allow Third-Party Cookies (Simplest)

  1. Open Google Chrome.

  2. Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner and select Settings.

  3. Go to Privacy and security.

  4. Click Third-party cookies.

  5. Select Allow third-party cookies.

  6. Refresh Gmail or restart Chrome.

Option B: Keep Third-Party Cookies Blocked (Recommended for Restricted Environments)

Use this option if you prefer to keep third-party cookies blocked globally while allowing ExtendSync to function.

  1. Open Google Chrome → Settings.

  2. Go to Privacy and security → Third-party cookies.

  3. Select Block third-party cookies.

  4. Under Sites that can always use cookies, click Add.

  5. Add the following site and check Include third-party cookies on this site:

  6. Click Add.

  7. Refresh Gmail or restart Chrome.

💡 If ExtendSync still does not load, also add:

✅ Verify the Setting

After updating your cookie settings:

  • Open Gmail

  • Open an email

  • Launch the ExtendSync panel

If the app loads normally, the issue is resolved.

Additional Notes

  • Cookie settings apply per Chrome profile. Make sure you update the correct profile.

  • On IT-managed devices, these settings may be locked—contact your IT team if you cannot change them.

  • Clearing cookies after making this change may require reapplying the allowlist.
