Overview
ExtendSync for Google NetSuite is now available only as the Current Version, which is actively supported and developed.
The Legacy Version has been sunset and is no longer supported or maintained. This article compares the Current Version with the sunset Legacy Version to help customers understand what functionality has changed and what behavior to expect.
Why the Legacy Version Was Sunset
The Legacy Version relied on deprecated Google browser technologies and browser-based NetSuite sessions that are no longer viable.
The Current Version was rebuilt to:
Eliminate browser session dependencies
Align with NetSuite’s modern authorization and messaging framework
Improve security, reliability, and long-term supportability
Sunsetting the Legacy Version ensures a stable, future-proof integration.

🔵 Anything missing from the ExtendSync for Google NetSuite?
A few things are missing from the new app, at least for now. When we built the current app we prioritized the features used the most and we deprioritized features used the least. The bottom line is we’re launching with a couple of missing (but little used) features.
The ability to open the Gmail compose window from the Gmail subtab in NetSuite will not be available.
Record types available for attaching emails are currently limited to those on this list.
Custom Records are only supported in manual association in this release. Setting a thread on Autopilot that associates with Custom Records will come in a future release.
🔵 What is the difference between the New app and the legacy app?
All emails will be stored on the native messages tab in NetSuite. Previously a copy of the email was also added to the Gmail sub-tab.
Email attachments will be included as part of the email on the native messages tab giving the user full visibility as to where the attachments came from (attachments were previously available on the Files tab without any visibility of their origin).
🔵 Can I run the current app and the legacy app in parallel?
No. The Legacy Version has been sunset and is no longer supported.
