Error: Login access has been disable for this role

ExtendSync Outlook | How to resolve login access error when logging into ExtendSync

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Error

When logging into the ExtendSync app, you see this error:

Login access has been disabled for this role

Reason for the Error

ExtendSync uses NetSuite’s secure 3-Step Authorization flow.
NetSuite decides how you log in (SSO, tokens, etc.) based on your role settings and previous login history.

If a role has login access restricted, often for security or SSO configuration reasons, you may see this error when trying to connect that role to ExtendSync.

Common causes include:

  • Your NetSuite role has “Login Access” disabled

  • Your org enforces SSO-only login for some roles

  • You previously logged in with a different flow, and NetSuite now expects that method

Troubleshooting

Try adding a fresh connection in ExtendSync

  1. In ExtendSync, click the Menu (⋮ or ☰) in the upper-right corner.

  2. Select Connections.

  3. Click Add (or Add New Connection).

  4. Follow the full login flow to connect to your NetSuite account + role again.

If the error persists after adding a new connection, proceed to the next step..

Ask your NetSuite Admin to check your role

Share this with your NetSuite Admin and ask them to:

  1. Go to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles.

  2. Edit the role you’re trying to use with ExtendSync.

  3. Confirm that:

    • Login access is allowed for that role.

    • The role is not set as Web Services Only (if you need interactive login).

    • Any SSO / 2FA requirements align with how you’re trying to log in via ExtendSync.

Once your admin adjusts the role if needed, try logging in again from Menu > Connections > Add in ExtendSync.
