FAQ: Is Event Availability (Available / Busy) Synced Between Google and NetSuite?

ExtendSync Google | Understand how event availability is handled

Updated today

Event availability (Available / Busy) is now synced between Google Calendar and NetSuite when using the Current Version of ExtendSync for Google NetSuite.

This article explains how availability syncing works and what to expect.

🚨 What Changed

In earlier versions of ExtendSync for Google, event availability was not synced due to differences in how Google and NetSuite stored availability-related fields.

This limitation no longer applies.

ExtendSync now correctly syncs availability between systems.

Why Availability Sync Is Now Supported

ExtendSync now intelligently maps Google’s availability setting to the appropriate NetSuite event access behavior, allowing availability to sync reliably.

Event status behavior varies depending on whether the event originates from NetSuite or Google.

How Availability Sync Works

For End Users

  • Changing an event to Busy or Available in Google Calendar updates the corresponding NetSuite event

  • Updating availability in NetSuite syncs back to Google Calendar

  • Privacy settings remain governed by each platform’s native controls

For Admins

  • No additional setup or field mapping is required

  • Availability syncing is enabled by default

  • Behavior aligns with supported Calendar Autopilot functionality

What to Expect

After creating or updating events:

  • Availability changes sync between Google and NetSuite

  • Events marked Busy in Google appear Busy in NetSuite

  • Events marked Available sync accordingly

  • No sync errors are generated related to availability
