Overview
If your organization changes its Google Workspace (formerly Google Apps) domain, ExtendSync for Google NetSuite will stop functioning until the domain change is properly reflected across licensing, NetSuite user records, and Google authorization.
This article explains the required steps to restore ExtendSync functionality after a domain change.
🚨 When This Applies
Follow this guide if:
Your Google Workspace domain has changed (for example,
@oldcompany.com→@newcompany.com)Users receive new Gmail email addresses
ExtendSync users can no longer authenticate or sync
These steps are mandatory to continue using ExtendSync.
Why These Steps Are Required
ExtendSync relies on:
The Google Workspace domain for licensing
Matching NetSuite Employee email addresses and Gmail IDs
Active Google authorization tied to the domain
When the domain changes, these dependencies must be updated to restore access.
How to Update ExtendSync After a Domain Change
Step 1: Update Your ExtendSync License
Who: NetSuite Admin
ExtendSync licenses are tied to your Google Workspace domain.
Send an email to cloudextend-support@celigo.com
Request that your ExtendSync license be updated to the new domain name
Include your NetSuite account ID and old/new domain details
Step 2: Update NetSuite Employee Email Addresses
Who: NetSuite Admin
You must ensure that NetSuite Employee records align with the new Gmail addresses.
Option A: Update Employee Records (Recommended)
Update each employee’s Email field in NetSuite to the new Gmail address
Ensure the NetSuite Employee Email exactly matches the Gmail ID
Option B: Use Celigo Employee Mapping Records
If you cannot change employee email addresses in NetSuite:
Create Celigo Employee Mapping custom records
Map existing NetSuite employees to their new Gmail addresses
➡️ Follow the guide: Celigo Employee mapping custom records to map the employee to the new Gmail Address
One of these two options is required for ExtendSync to function.
Step 3: Reauthorize ExtendSync with Google
Who: Google Workspace Super Admin
Because authorization is domain-specific, ExtendSync must be reauthorized.
Complete the ExtendSync setup process again using the new domain
Follow the Admin Setup Guide to grant Google permissions
Step 4: Refresh User Licenses in ExtendSync
Who: NetSuite Admin
To ensure ExtendSync captures the updated email addresses:
Open the ExtendSync setup in NetSuite.
Go to the Licenses tab.
Uncheck all currently assigned employee licenses.
Re-check the licenses for each user.
Save your changes.
This forces ExtendSync to register the new Gmail addresses for licensed users.
Best Practices
Perform these steps before users attempt to use ExtendSync on the new domain
Complete license updates before reassigning users
Ensure Google authorization is performed by a Super Admin
Email address mismatches are the most common cause of post-domain-change issues
