Troubleshooting: ExtendInsights Stopped Working After a Microsoft 365 or Office Update

ExtendInsights Apps | Determine whether the issue is related to Microsoft Office or ExtendInsights

If the ExtendInsights add-in stops working after a Microsoft 365 or Office update, the issue may be caused by Microsoft Office, your Microsoft 365 environment, or a local Office configuration.

Check Microsoft First

If you're a Microsoft 365 Administrator:

  1. Go to HealthService health.

  2. Check for incidents affecting:

    • Office Add-ins

    • Microsoft Excel

    • Microsoft AppSource

    • Exchange Online

    • Microsoft 365 Apps

If an active incident is listed, Microsoft is already working on a resolution.

If No Microsoft Incident Is Reported

Work through the common issues steps to clear the cache, and reinstall from Marketplace:

Known Causes

Microsoft has identified several issues that can affect Office add-ins, including:
